Shawn Black

Vice President and General Manager, Electro-Optical & Infrared Systems, Leonardo DRS

Shawn Black is the Vice President and General Manager of the Electro-Optical & Infrared (EO/IR) Systems line of business, after serving as the Vice President and General Manager of our Infrared Sensors & Systems business. Shawn came to DRS in 2003 and has held leadership positions of increasing responsibility during his tenure; including Vice President of Defense EO/IR Systems, Vice President of Ground Vehicle EO/IR Systems, Vice President of Business Development for Environmental Systems, and Director of Border Security & Force Protection Programs.

Prior to DRS, Shawn worked as a consultant for Perot Systems, graduating from their Engineering Development Technical Leadership Program, and as an internal auditor and business consultant for Arthur Andersen. He has a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Pennsylvania State University and a Master’s of Science degree in Business Administration from Boston University. Shawn also served in the United States Marine Corps (USMC), achieving the rank of Captain after 5 years of service with tank and infantry units.
